Raja is an international expert on the Therapeutic Assessment (TA) model and co-author of the TA manual:  Therapeutic Assessment for Adults—Using Psychological Testing to Help Clients Change.  He took part in intensive training on TA with the model’s creator, Dr. Stephen Finn, in Austin, Texas. In 2015, he earned certification in the adult TA model by the Therapeutic Assessment Institute. Besides routinely conducting TAs, he has trained hundreds of clinicians in this approach through workshops and graduate courses. He has also presented at professional conferences and was a plenary speaker at the 2015 & 2021 International Collaborative/Therapeutic Assessment Conferences and has been a routine presenter at the Society for Personality Assessment (SPA) Annual Conference. In 2019, he recorded two podcasts on TA for The Testing Psychologist Podcast. He has written articles and chapters on TA for professional publications and has consulted with professionals and agencies seeking to implement TA with their clients. In 2022, he joined the Therapeutic Assessment Institute Board of Directors and was appointed editor of the biannual professional newsletter, The TA Connection

​Raja began his career as a middle school social studies teacher, which built his passion for helping young people. He earned his Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in 2002, and he is board certified in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology (ABPP). In addition to his proficiencies in assessment, he also provides individual and family therapy and conducts such services in a highly collaborative and relational fashion. He is the former Program Dean of the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology, and as an assistant professor taught doctoral psychology courses, including a course on Therapeutic Assessment.  In 2022, he again taught his Therapeutic Assessment course as an adjunct professor for Augsburg University’s Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology department. Raja lives in St. Paul with his wife and three daughters.
